Dead Radio is the project of Chilean-American multi-instrumentalist and producer, Jaime Paul Bandres. Emerging in the late 2010s, Dead Radio quickly gained traction for its unique blend of vaporwave, lo-fi hip hop, and nostalgic samples drawn heavily from 1980s and 90s radio broadcasts – hence the name. Bandres initially released music anonymously via SoundCloud, building a dedicated online following before transitioning to platforms like Bandcamp.

His sound is characterized by heavily processed vocals, melancholic melodies, and a deliberate aesthetic of sonic decay, evoking feelings of memory and lost time. Key releases include the *Radio Nostalgia* series (2018-2020) which cemented his position within the vaporwave scene, and the critically acclaimed album *Six Songs About a Lover* (2021), showcasing a more focused songwriting approach.

Dead Radio’s music has been featured in numerous online publications covering alternative and electronic music, and he's amassed millions of streams across various platforms. He continues to release EPs and albums, consistently exploring themes of isolation, longing, and the power of mediated experience through a distinctly retro lens.
