Dave Monaco is a highly respected American session saxophonist, arranger, and composer, particularly renowned for his extensive work in the smooth jazz and contemporary instrumental genres. Beginning his professional career in the 1980s, Monaco quickly became a sought-after studio musician, contributing to recordings by artists like Patti Austin, George Benson, and Kenny Loggins.

He gained prominence as a founding member of the influential smooth jazz group, The Rippingtons, remaining with them for over two decades and co-writing many of their signature songs. Beyond The Rippingtons, Monaco has released eight solo albums beginning with *Signature* (1993), showcasing his melodic improvisations and compositional skills. His style blends elements of traditional jazz harmony with a distinctly contemporary feel, often incorporating funk and R&B influences.

Monaco’s compositions have consistently charted on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz charts; “Pacific Coast Highway” remains a fan favorite.
