Cupertinos are a Canadian indie pop band formed in 2017 in Hamilton, Ontario. Comprising Jonathon Anderson-Gallagher, Brian Borcherdt, and Daniel Pitout (all members of various other prominent Canadian indie acts like July Talk and Dusted), they quickly garnered attention for their meticulously crafted, synth-driven sound. Their music blends elements of new wave, dream pop, and 80s inspired electronic music with a distinctly modern sensibility.
The band released their self-titled debut EP in 2018, followed by the critically acclaimed full-length album *Carnival* in 2020 via Royal Mountain Records. *Carnival* received praise for its sophisticated arrangements and emotionally resonant songwriting, earning nominations for the 2021 Polaris Music Prize and a Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year.
