Constantin Trinks is a German jazz drummer and composer, rapidly gaining international recognition for his innovative approach to rhythm and improvisation. Born in 1988, Trinks initially honed his skills studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, later continuing his education at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City.
He’s best known as a founding member of the internationally acclaimed trio *3er Hang*, alongside Petter Eldh and Leo Janssen, releasing several albums to critical praise including “Windfall” (2018) and “Around Again” (2020). His style blends elements of post-bop, free improvisation, and subtle electronic textures, showcasing a remarkable sensitivity and dynamic range.
Trinks has collaborated with numerous prominent musicians including Nguyên Lê, Joachim Kühn, and Frank Möckl. He’s received awards including the Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis (New German Jazz Prize) in 2020 for *3er Hang*. Beyond his group work, he actively composes for various ensembles and leads his own projects exploring extended techniques and sonic landscapes. He continues to tour extensively throughout Europe and beyond.
