Experience Clélya Abraham

Clélya Abraham is a French-Lebanese vocalist, composer, and improviser rapidly gaining recognition for her unique approach to vocal music. Born in Paris, she initially trained classically in voice before exploring jazz and contemporary improvised music. Abraham’s style blends extended vocal techniques – incorporating microtonality, circular breathing, and textural explorations – with influences from Arabic maqam traditions inherited through her Lebanese heritage.

She has collaborated extensively with artists across diverse genres, including Nguyên Lê (jazz guitar), Franck Tortiller (saxophone), and electronic music producers. A key member of the collective “Les Yeux du Monde,” she frequently performs site-specific and multidisciplinary projects.

Abraham released her critically acclaimed debut album, *Échos d'Orient*, in 2023 on Fractal Records, showcasing her compositional skills and vocal prowess. This album garnered praise for its innovative soundscapes and sensitive exploration of cultural identity. She's been featured in publications like *Jazz Magazine* and regularly performs at prominent European jazz festivals, establishing herself as a compelling voice in contemporary vocal improvisation. Her work consistently challenges conventional notions of vocal performance and musical boundaries.
