Christophe Rousset is a renowned French harpsichordist and conductor, celebrated for his expertise in Baroque music. Born in 1961, Rousset has established himself as a leading figure in historically informed performance, specializing in the works of composers such as Jean-Philippe Rameau, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Antonio Vivaldi. A graduate of the Conservatoire de Paris, he studied harpsichord under Huguette Dreyfus and later expanded his skills in conducting.

Rousset founded Les Talens Lyriques in 1991, an ensemble dedicated to reviving Baroque opera and orchestral repertoire with authentic period instruments. Under his direction, Les Talens Lyriques has gained international acclaim for its vibrant interpretations and meticulous attention to stylistic detail. His discography includes award-winning recordings of operas by Rameau and Handel, contributing significantly to the modern appreciation of 17th- and 18th-century music.
