Carmen Lundy is a highly respected American jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and educator with a career spanning over four decades. Born in Springfield, Ohio, she began performing professionally while still in high school and earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Ohio State University. Lundy’s style is characterized by a distinctive vocal timbre, sophisticated harmonic sensibilities rooted in bebop and post-bop traditions, and lyrical content often addressing social consciousness and personal narratives.

She gained prominence in the 1980s, releasing several albums as a leader for Muse Records and later establishing her own independent label, Church Hill Records. Lundy has consistently received critical acclaim for albums like *Jigsaw Puzzle* (1992) and *Solitude Blue* (2003), showcasing her compositional prowess alongside her vocal abilities.
