Bex Burch is a British multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist known for her innovative work blending jazz, folk, and experimental music. Initially gaining recognition as a founding member of the acclaimed Vula Viel, a band deeply influenced by East African guitar styles – specifically the shimmering sounds of Tanzanian *taarab* music – Burch established a unique sonic landscape built around interlocking guitar lines and hypnotic rhythms.

Following Vula Viel’s success with albums like *Good Luck* (2016) and *What Time It Is* (2019), both receiving critical praise from publications like The Guardian and Pitchfork, Burch embarked on a solo career. Her debut solo album, *Aleppo*, released in 2023 on River Lea Records, showcases a more introspective and ambient approach, incorporating field recordings from her travels and exploring themes of displacement and memory.

Burch’s compositions are characterized by intricate arrangements, looping techniques, and her distinctive vocal delivery.
