Benjamin Reyes is a highly regarded American pianist, composer, and arranger specializing in Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban music. Born in New York City to Dominican parents, Reyes began formal piano training at age five and quickly demonstrated exceptional talent. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master of Music degree from Purchase College Conservatory of Music.

Reyes gained prominence as the musical director and pianist for Rubén Blades for over two decades, contributing significantly to Blades’ iconic sound and numerous Grammy-winning albums. Beyond his work with Blades, he’s collaborated with artists like Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D’Rivera, and Eddie Palmieri.

His playing style is characterized by virtuosic technique, harmonic sophistication deeply rooted in jazz improvisation, and a profound understanding of Cuban rhythms. Reyes leads his own ensembles, releasing albums like “Across the Americas” (2016) which showcases his compositions blending various Latin American influences. He's also a sought-after arranger, lending his expertise to projects across diverse genres.
