Benedikt Kristjánsson is an Icelandic pianist rapidly gaining international recognition for his deeply sensitive and technically brilliant interpretations of Romantic and 20th/21st-century classical repertoire. Born in 1993, he studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Professor Christopher Elton, graduating with the highest distinction and multiple awards including the DipRAM.

Kristjánsson’s performances are characterized by a lyrical quality and nuanced phrasing, often drawing comparisons to artists like Rubinstein and Argerich. He achieved significant acclaim winning First Prize at the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2018), a competition historically dominated by established pianists.
