Beaks is the electronic music project of British composer and producer, Matthew Davies, formerly of the acclaimed post-rock band, These New Puritans. Emerging in 2016 with the *Nervous System* EP on Warp Records, Beaks quickly established a distinct sound blending elements of techno, ambient, and experimental electronica. Davies’ background in classical composition heavily influences his work, resulting in meticulously crafted arrangements characterized by intricate rhythms, layered textures, and a focus on sonic detail.
His debut album, *Livery* (2017), received critical praise for its unique approach to club music – intellectually stimulating yet undeniably danceable.
