Barbora Vágnerová is a Czech vocalist and composer rapidly gaining international recognition for her innovative approach to vocal improvisation and extended vocal techniques. Trained classically, she seamlessly blends jazz harmony, contemporary composed music, and folk influences into a uniquely personal sound. Vágnerová’s career began with studies at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague, followed by further education at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague, focusing on vocal performance.

She leads several projects, notably the Barbora Vágnerová Quartet and the duo with pianist Ondřej Pomajsl, exploring textural soundscapes and emotionally resonant compositions. Her debut album, “Augmented Reality” (2018), received critical acclaim for its adventurous spirit and technical virtuosity. Vágnerová frequently performs at prominent European jazz festivals including JazzFest Brno and has collaborated with artists like Brian Blade & Bill Frisell (as part of a workshop).

Known for her captivating stage presence and ability to create immersive sonic environments using only her voice, she's been described as a "vocal explorer" pushing the boundaries of contemporary vocal music. She consistently ranks among leading figures in Czech contemporary jazz and improvisation scenes.
