Azure McCall is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist rapidly gaining recognition for her uniquely atmospheric and emotionally resonant music. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, McCall formally studied jazz piano at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City, graduating in 2018. Her sound defies easy categorization, blending elements of neo-soul, jazz improvisation, electronic music production, and spoken word poetry.

McCall’s debut EP, *Kinesthesia* (2019), established her as a promising new voice, garnering praise for its intimate lyricism and textural soundscapes. She followed this with the critically acclaimed album *Running Through the Cities* (2023), released on Nude Club Records, which expanded on her sonic palette incorporating field recordings and more pronounced electronic influences.

Known for captivating live performances – often solo looping vocals and keyboard – McCall has shared stages with artists like serpentwithfeet and Sudan Archives. She’s received support from publications including *Pitchfork*, *The Fader*, and *NPR Music*, who highlighted her ability to create “a deeply personal and immersive listening experience.” Her work frequently explores themes of memory, displacement, and Black womanhood.
