Ariane Racicot is a Canadian vocalist, composer, and improviser recognized for her innovative approach to voice and extended vocal techniques. Born in Quebec City, she holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Université de Montréal, where she also completed a Master’s degree. Her work frequently explores the intersection of jazz, contemporary classical music, and free improvisation.
Racicot’s discography includes critically acclaimed albums like *Mélopées* (2017) and *Le temps qui passe* (2020), both released on the Effendi Records label. She's collaborated extensively with prominent figures in experimental music, including Joël Tremblay, Nicolas Collins, and Sam Green. A recipient of numerous grants from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts, Racicot actively performs internationally at festivals dedicated to new music and improvised performance.
