Andreas Ottensamer is an acclaimed Austrian clarinetist renowned for his virtuosic technique and expressive musicality. Born in Vienna in 1989 into a family of distinguished musicians, Ottensamer quickly rose to prominence as one of the leading clarinetists of his generation. He began studying clarinet at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he honed his skills under prominent mentors.

Ottensamer’s career is marked by prestigious appointments and collaborations. Notably, he served as principal clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra from 2009 to 2016, a rare achievement for a musician so young. His solo career flourished alongside, with performances at major concert halls worldwide including Carnegie Hall and the Musikverein Vienna. He is also a founding member of The Clarinotts, a unique clarinet trio formed with his father and brother.

Stylistically, Ottensamer is celebrated for blending classical tradition with contemporary flair, delivering performances that are both technically impeccable and emotionally compelling. His repertoire spans from classical masterpieces by Mozart and Brahms to modern compositions, often championing new works for clarinet.
