Born in Cali, Colombia, she honed her skills studying at the Berklee College of Music before establishing herself as a prominent figure in New York City’s jazz scene.

Valderrama’s style seamlessly blends traditional Colombian rhythms – particularly *currulao* – with sophisticated jazz harmonies and influences from artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Joni Mitchell. She's known for her scat singing prowess and lyrical exploration of themes relating to identity, displacement, and cultural heritage.
