Amy Lee, born December 13, 1981, is an American singer-songwriter best known as the frontwoman and founding member of the rock band Evanescence. Rising to prominence in the early 2000s, Evanescence blended gothic rock, alternative metal, and classical influences, largely shaped by Lee’s distinctive operatic vocals and piano skills.

The band’s debut album *Fallen* (2003) achieved diamond status, fueled by the hit singles “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal.” Lee’s songwriting often explores themes of loss, pain, and inner strength. Following *Fallen*, Evanescence released *The Open Door* (2006) and a self-titled album in 2011, both achieving platinum certification.

Beyond Evanescence, Lee has contributed vocals to film soundtracks (*Warcraft*, *The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe*) and released a solo album, *Voyage* (2014), showcasing a more orchestral and personal sound. She has also been involved in various philanthropic endeavors supporting music education.
