Alvin Frazier (born November 25, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois) is a highly respected American jazz and blues guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. Emerging from Chicago’s vibrant blues scene in the 1970s, Frazier initially gained recognition as a member of Lightnin’ Hopkins’ backing band, touring and recording with the legendary bluesman for over a decade. This formative experience deeply influenced his own distinctive style – a blend of sophisticated jazz harmonies layered over a foundation of raw, Chicago blues feeling.

Frazier's solo career blossomed in the 1980s with albums like *Take My Pick* (1984) and *Hot Numbers* (1987), showcasing his fluid guitar work and soulful vocals.
