Alexander Liebreich is a highly regarded German conductor, celebrated for his insightful interpretations and dynamic performances spanning a broad repertoire. Born in 1979, he initially gained recognition as a violinist, studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. However, he transitioned to conducting, receiving further training with renowned figures like Kurt Masur and Pierre Boulez.

Liebreich served as Chief Conductor of the Bochum Symphony Orchestra (2015-2021), significantly raising their profile through innovative programming and critically acclaimed recordings – notably their complete Beethoven symphonies cycle on the Coviello Classics label. He is currently Artistic Director of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern since 2021.

Known for his meticulous preparation and ability to connect with orchestras, Liebreich’s style emphasizes clarity, dramatic intensity, and a deep understanding of the composer's intent. He frequently champions contemporary music alongside core classical works. His engagements include performances with major orchestras throughout Europe and Asia, demonstrating a rapidly ascending international career. He received the prestigious Förderpreis des Deutschen Musikrates in 2018.
