Experience Alex Webb

Alex Webb is a British jazz saxophonist and composer born in 1983. He initially gained recognition as a member of the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra while still a student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2005. Webb’s professional career launched with work alongside artists including Van Morrison, Amy Winehouse, and the BBC Jazz Orchestra.

His debut album, *Sabotage*, released in 2010 on Loop Records, received critical acclaim for its blend of post-bop improvisation and contemporary harmonic sensibilities. Subsequent albums include *Qualia* (2014) and *Eight Walks* (2017), both also released on Loop Records, further establishing his distinctive voice.

Webb’s compositional style frequently incorporates extended techniques and explores textural soundscapes within a modern jazz framework. He leads his own quartet, featuring prominent figures on the UK jazz scene, and has toured extensively throughout Europe. In 2023, he released *After Effects*, an album exploring themes of memory and perception through layered saxophone arrangements and electronic processing. He currently teaches at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
