Alena Hron is a Czech vocalist and composer renowned for her distinctive blend of world music, jazz, and traditional folk influences. Born in 1978, she initially gained recognition as the frontwoman of the critically acclaimed ethno-jazz group Tara Farka, touring extensively throughout Europe and releasing several albums with them.

Hron launched her solo career in 2010, quickly establishing herself as a significant force in the contemporary world music scene. Her music often incorporates Moravian folk songs – specifically from her native region – alongside elements of Balkan rhythms, Latin American percussion, and improvisational jazz structures. She’s a highly skilled multi-instrumentalist proficient in piano, percussion, and various ethnic instruments.

Albums like “Frekvence” (2016) and “#ALENAHRON” (2019) have garnered widespread praise for their innovative arrangements and Hron’s powerful vocal delivery. She has collaborated with numerous prominent musicians internationally and frequently performs at major world music festivals including Colours of Ostrava and WOMEX.
