Albrecht Mayer is a renowned German classical musician widely recognized for his exceptional talent as an oboist. Born on June 14, 1965, in Erlangen, Germany, Mayer has established himself as one of the leading oboists of his generation through his remarkable career spanning several decades.

Mayer's musical journey began at a young age when he started playing the piano and violin. However, it was the oboe that captured his heart and became his primary instrument. He studied under renowned oboists Ingo Goritzki and Maurice Bourgue, honing his skills and developing a distinctive style characterized by its elegance, precision, and expressive phrasing.

In 1990, Mayer joined the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra as their principal oboist, a position he holds to this day.
