Al DeGregoris is a highly respected American session musician, keyboardist, and composer, renowned for his extensive work with iconic artists across multiple genres. Beginning his career in the 1970s, he quickly established himself as a sought-after studio player in Los Angeles. He’s perhaps best known for his decades-long collaboration with Stevie Wonder, contributing significantly to albums like *Songs in the Key of Life* and *Hotter Than July*, playing both acoustic piano and synthesizers.

DeGregoris’ style is characterized by its harmonic sophistication, soulful phrasing, and versatility – seamlessly moving between jazz, funk, R&B, and pop. Beyond Wonder, he's recorded and toured with artists including Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind & Fire, Barbra Streisand, and Donna Summer. He also composed music for film and television.

Notably, DeGregoris was a founding member of the band Free Spirit alongside Patrice Rushen and Alphonse Mouzon. His contributions remain largely behind-the-scenes but are fundamentally integral to the sound of some of music history’s most celebrated recordings. He continues to be an active musician today.
