Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys are a Canadian swing and jump blues band, active since 1998, renowned for their energetic live performances and dedication to the post-war rhythm & blues sound. Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Adam Hall, the group meticulously recreates the atmosphere of 1940s and 50s nightclubs.

Hall, originally from Vancouver Island, formed the Playboys with a focus on authentic instrumentation and arrangements – eschewing modern production techniques in favour of a raw, vintage aesthetic. Their discography includes five studio albums: *Jumpin’ at the Jubilee* (2001), *Hot Rod Lincoln* (2003), *Swingin’ the Joint* (2006), *Gasoline* (2011) and *Streetsweeper* (2018).

The band has toured extensively across Canada and internationally, including appearances at major jazz and blues festivals. They've shared stages with artists like Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers. A consistent highlight is their commitment to reviving lesser-known tunes from artists like Louis Jordan and Wynonie Harris alongside original compositions in the same vein.
