Young Fathers is a genre-defying musical group hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed in 2008, the trio consists of Alloysious Massaquoi, Kayus Bankole and Graham 'G' Hastings. Their music is an eclectic mix of hip-hop, pop, electronic, and African music influences that defies easy categorization.

The group's career took off with their debut mixtape 'Tape One,' which was quickly followed by 'Tape Two.' Both releases were critically acclaimed for their innovative sound. In 2014, Young Fathers released their first full-length album 'Dead,' which won the prestigious Mercury Prize for the best album in the UK and Ireland. This marked them as a major force in contemporary music.

Their follow-up albums, 'White Men Are Black Men Too' (2015) and ‘Cocoa Sugar’ (2018), continued to push musical boundaries and further cemented their reputation for creating thought-provoking and emotionally charged music. The latter peaked at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart.

Young Fathers are known for their energetic and intense live performances. They have toured extensively around the world, playing at major festivals like Glastonbury and Coachella.

In addition to their music career, they've also ventured into film. They contributed several songs to the soundtrack of the acclaimed 2017 film 'T2 Trainspotting.
