Romare

Romare is a British producer, DJ, and composer whose career has spanned over a decade. He is known for his distinctive blend of soulful house music with elements of jazz, hip hop, and folk music. His sound has been described as “a vivid celebration of African-American culture” that pays homage to the musical heritage of his hometown of Manchester.

Romare released his debut album Projections in 2015 on Ninja Tune records, which was hailed by Pitchfork as “one of the year's most accomplished electronic albums”. His follow up album Love Songs: Part Two was released in 2017 and featured collaborations with vocalists such as Robert Glasper and Eric Lau. In 2020 he released Home, an album inspired by his time spent in lockdown during the pandemic. The album received critical acclaim for its exploration of themes such as loneliness and resilience through its use of samples from classic gospel records.
